Massive wildfires are tearing through parts of California, destroying hundreds of buildings and forcing thousands of people from their homes. The Camp Fire in Northern California exploded in size Thursday, overtaking the town of Paradise where around 30,000 people were forced to evacuate last minute. David Begnaud reports.

#CampFire: Residents in Paradise, California start recovery as blaze spreads

23 people are dead and 120,000 acres are burned. The #CampFire is 20% contained. Some residents of Paradise, Calif., who were under evacuation orders, stayed put to save their homes. “It was like fighting an elephant with a piece of spaghetti,” Brad Weldon said, adding that he saved his home with five gallon buckets of water and a Doughboy above ground pool. Father and son drive into a wildfire

A father and son had a miraculous escape from a wildfire in Glacier National Park in Montana on August 12, when they were forced to drive through the flames, dodging debris and enduring an increasingly hot car. From Paradise to ‘hell,’ California fires blaze statewide

Over a dozen active fires continue to wreak destruction across California, from the northern part of the state to Malibu and Oak Park outside Los Angeles. Driving through Paradise, California as the Camp Fire rages on

Nearly 30,000 people were forced to evacuate on Thursday when a wildfire roared through this California town, located about 180 miles northeast of San Francisco. In less than 24 hours, the Camp Fire torched Paradise homes, — businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and a retirement home — was left "pretty much...destroyed," California Fire Capt.
